Site Description
This site consists of part of the Dinefwr Estate, an early medieval establishment. Within its still functioning deerpark and ornamental woods survive a great number of veteran trees, some believed to be 13th cent. in origin. The site also includes the remains of a medieval castle and part of the flood plain of the Afon Twyi, the latter providing a buffer area for the major lichen interest in the deerpark.

Botanical Significance
A notable epiphytic lichen site with some of the most extensive examples of the Lecanactidetum premneae in Western Europe. The Lobarion maintains a precarious hold. The lichens occur on ancient pollard and maiden native broadleaved trees
